(or Evolution vs the Bible)
Let God be found true, though every man be found a liar. – Romans 3:4
Before we can continue on further, we must again deal with the false teachings of man head on right here, for many people are under the (mistaken) impression that science has disproven the Bible. So, it’s now appropriate to bring in another critical subject on these first three chapters about God’s creation: the subject of science vs. the Bible, creation vs. evolution, etc.
There isn’t space here to refute all the theories of man on these subjects, although one in particular is covered in the Wolves Chapter (the “Theory” of Evolution) as it is so widespread, popular, believed by many and shouted from the rooftops in staggering volume day and night from every single media outlet on this planet.
Many people believe that science has proven the Bible false; in fact, the opposite is true – every advancement and discovery in science (and in other fields such as history, archaeology, etc.) has in fact PROVEN the Bible true! It is sad today to see the brainwashing that is done since we are wee infants in the educational system, to be prejudiced against God from our earliest educational levels.
As you see from the headline verse to this chapter, the general rule is that if something man says disagrees with or contradicts the Bible, then man is wrong!
There are many good and knowledgeable articles, studies, and research on the subject written by very competent scientists and scholars who have studied mountains of evidence and data. I encourage you to consult some of the reference materials I have listed at the end of this book and also on our website we list many questions and answers (Q&A), links to over a hundred articles, papers, studies and research on these very subjects by competent and highly trained and respected Scientists.
Friend, I really do know and empathize what you’re going through if you doubt there is a God, and that His initial Creation was good, pure, without sin suffering and death. I had to sort through hundreds of my own questions and doubts on these matters before I could come to believe that there really is a God, and that He is good and loving! And believe me, when I question and doubt something, I do it like the best of them. When I have questions, there are hundreds and hundreds to be answered! So, I am speaking from personal experience on this subject.
The Q&A material on our website covers many of the most common stumbling blocks and false teachings of man that cause disbelief, such as:
- Doesn’t evolution disprove the Bible? (or the corollary: how can the 7 literal days of creation in the Bible possibly be true?)
- What about the dinosaurs, don’t they disprove the Bible? And I thought an asteroid killed them off many millions of years ago?
- Don’t fossils prove millions of years and disprove the Bible?
- Doesn’t carbon-dating prove millions of years and disprove the Bible?
- Doesn’t tree growth rings prove millions of years and disprove the Bible?
- Doesn’t erosion and plate tectonics prove millions of years and disprove the Bible?
- Doesn’t natural selection disprove the Bible?
- Doesn’t science prove that there were many “ice ages” over millions of years?
- Doesn’t astronomy and light “red-shift” prove millions of years and disprove the Bible?
- Don’t animals having sharp teeth prove that creation wasn’t good, and doesn’t this disprove the Bible?
- How could Noah’s flood truly be worldwide in scope? Surely it is just a myth?
- Doesn’t the “big-bang theory” also disprove the Bible?
The answer to these and many other commonly accepted (without challenge) scientific questions is: no! Regarding evolution, by their very own admission, evolutionary “scientists” acknowledge that their “theory” cannot explain where life first came from.
Friend you are being, and have been all your life, taught and pumped full of anti-God brainwashing, propaganda and lies/distractions of man 24/7/365 (all the time, constantly: all day, every day, all year, every year, since you were an infant); these are brought to you by the secular world and its institutions. They are designed to lead you away from God, and away from Christ, and away from eternal life!
Many scientists, who are Christians, have studies and research that atheistic scientists (and their sponsoring institutions) just don’t like, want to hear, or want you to hear. So that information is suppressed (or ignored) in schools or “discredited” by atheistic theories put forth as facts. As a scientist myself (physics), I also struggled mightily with these questions about science, evolution, and the age of the earth, etc. – how could it all be possibly created by a God, in a mere 7 days? How could all the “facts” of evolution and millions of years be wrong? I had to seek answers to many questions, and hopefully the information I’ve found and listed can help you also.
But: Are you prepared to be open-minded and consider new information? Are you really ready to objectively evaluate factual information and to consider that you may have been lied to for so many years? Are you really open to considering that the Biblical view on science and creation (and other matters) are indeed correct and accurate?
As Scripture says, “the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.” When you stop listening to the theories, myths, and fables of man, and start to seek knowledge, wisdom and truth from the Lord via His Word, then you will start to get real wisdom and knowledge; and you will be blessed with understanding. Until you do that, you will simply keep chasing more theories, myths and fables of man. I know it sounds harsh reading that, but it’s the truth! I’ve seen the change myself after I realized that man isn’t the ultimate authority on matters, the Lord is; when you accept that God (not man) has truth, a light goes off and you have a “hey, you mean what I’ve been taught all my life isn’t so much proven by science after all?” moment!
You will then realize that on these essential matters, God is truth, and all men are not. Are you ready to trust God’s wisdom on these essential and eternal matters, over man’s? It is written: “There is a way which seems right to a man [his notions, myths, theories, opinions, among other things…], but its end is the way of death.” The Lord and His Word and His Wisdom lead to life; trust in God’s holy Word.
You will also realize that God is not a God of confusion, but of logic, reason and understanding. In fact, He upholds this very universe by His Word; and remember that it was God who created science in the first place! He created the things that we know today as the laws of mathematics, the laws of physics, the laws of logic, etc. He originated them. We are not to discard such logic and reasoning when evaluating research and “science” in this area, which is either for, or against, the Bible.
The Biblical book of Job is most enlightening on this matter; I’ve included a few chapters from Job in the verses below. They show the Lord really laying it thick and heavy on Job and putting him back in his place again for thinking he was wiser than God. The Lord showed him that it was God who created, ordered, and maintains all things; and notice that God used matters of Creation and the physical and natural world as examples of His wisdom (not man’s wisdom)! While lengthy, it’s worth reading in its entirety.
And finally, after reading some of the materials we have suggested (I sincerely hope you do), you will be left wondering why you haven’t heard or been taught any of this stuff in school? You will see that there are many valid interpretations of “scientific data” which also agree with the Bible!
You will find there is a whole body of scientific knowledge and facts out there that has been kept hidden from you. I’ll let you ponder the answer to that…but I now see that much of what secular science and textbooks and colleges taught me was just “theories” and even brainwashing, pure rubbish in fact, to make God more opaque and hard to find.
Please do realize that nearly all schools, colleges, universities, textbooks, and yes even “Christian” seminary schools which are producing most of the pastors today are run and controlled by extremely liberal secular entities, which are directly opposed to Christianity. Staggering! Astounding? …. Hard to believe? Impossible you say? But that’s a true statement, and the facts are out there.
As I mentioned but this bears repeating: Do you know why they spend so much energy and effort to try to stop you from believing at these very first steps of understanding God’s creation? Because they know that if you don’t believe the very first sentence and chapter of the Bible you won’t believe or read the rest. And make no mistake, the “they” are ungodly men who are under the control of Satan the devil, whether they like to think so or not, and they do not want to see you coming to God, and His Christ, and to eternal life.
So please do not judge matters (and God) only by what you see today in this fallen world and by what you have been “taught”; in fact, this is why the Lord has given us the Bible – so we know the truth, even when it’s hard to see in this fallen world. The Bible transcends both space and time. It is God’s Holy Word given to guide those who will listen. For God is before all, created all, in all, through all, for all, and above all things!
Now please keep reading the next chapter to learn more about why God cursed creation, which explains the fallen world and shows you that what the Bible says is indeed true, and that it also matches exactly what we also see around us today.
False Teaching(s) You Will Encounter:
- The “Theory” of Evolution and “millions of years” disprove the Bible
- Science has disproven the Bible (carbon dating, tree rings, fossils, “ice ages”, dinosaurs, etc. ad nauseum…)
Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, “That You may be justified in Your words, And prevail when You are judged.” – Romans 3:4
There is a way which seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death. – Proverbs 14:12
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction. – Proverbs 1:7
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. – Proverbs 3:5-7
For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.” Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. … Because the foolishness of God [if that were even possible] is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. – 1 Corinthians 1:19-21,25
Listen to counsel and accept discipline, That you may be wise the rest of your days. – Proverbs 19:20
How blessed is the man who finds wisdom And the man who gains understanding. – Proverbs 3:13
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.” – 1 Corinthians 3:18-20
God is not a God of confusion. – 1 Corinthians 14:33
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
“Who is this that darkens counsel
By words without knowledge?
“Now gird up your loins like a man,
And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding,
Who set its measurements? Since you know.
Or who stretched the line on it?
“On what were its bases sunk?
Or who laid its cornerstone,
When the morning stars sang together
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
“Or who enclosed the sea with doors
When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb;
When I made a cloud its garment
And thick darkness its swaddling band,
And I placed boundaries on it
And set a bolt and doors,
And I said, ‘Thus far you shall come, but no farther;
And here shall your proud waves stop’?
“Have you ever in your life commanded the morning,
And caused the dawn to know its place,
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,
And the wicked be shaken out of it?
“It is changed like clay under the seal;
And they stand forth like a garment.
“From the wicked their light is withheld,
And the uplifted arm is broken.
“Have you entered into the springs of the sea
Or walked in the recesses of the deep?
“Have the gates of death been revealed to you,
Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
“Have you understood the expanse of the earth?
Tell Me, if you know all this.
“Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
And darkness, where is its place,
That you may take it to its territory
And that you may discern the paths to its home?
“You know, for you were born then,
And the number of your days is great!
“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,
Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
Which I have reserved for the time of distress,
For the day of war and battle?
“Where is the way that the light is divided,
Or the east wind scattered on the earth?
“Who has cleft a channel for the flood,
Or a way for the thunderbolt,
To bring rain on a land without people,
On a desert without a man in it,
To satisfy the waste and desolate land
And to make the seeds of grass to sprout?
“Has the rain a father?
Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
“From whose womb has come the ice?
And the frost of heaven, who has given it birth?
“Water becomes hard like stone,
And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.
“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades,
Or loose the cords of Orion?
“Can you lead forth a constellation in its season,
And guide the Bear with her satellites?
“Do you know the ordinances of the heavens,
Or fix their rule over the earth?
“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,
So that an abundance of water will cover you?
“Can you send forth lightnings that they may go
And say to you, ‘Here we are’?
“Who has put wisdom in the innermost being
Or given understanding to the mind?
“Who can count the clouds by wisdom,
Or tip the water jars of the heavens,
When the dust hardens into a mass
And the clods stick together?
“Can you hunt the prey for the lion,
Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
When they crouch in their dens
And lie in wait in their lair?
“Who prepares for the raven its nourishment
When its young cry to God
And wander about without food? – Job 38:1-41
“Do you know the time the mountain goats give birth?
Do you observe the calving of the deer?
“Can you count the months they fulfill,
Or do you know the time they give birth?
“They kneel down, they bring forth their young,
They get rid of their labor pains.
“Their offspring become strong, they grow up in the open field;
They leave and do not return to them.
“Who sent out the wild donkey free?
And who loosed the bonds of the swift donkey,
To whom I gave the wilderness for a home
And the salt land for his dwelling place?
“He scorns the tumult of the city,
The shoutings of the driver he does not hear.
“He explores the mountains for his pasture
And searches after every green thing.
“Will the wild ox consent to serve you,
Or will he spend the night at your manger?
“Can you bind the wild ox in a furrow with ropes,
Or will he harrow the valleys after you?
“Will you trust him because his strength is great
And leave your labor to him?
“Will you have faith in him that he will return your grain
And gather it from your threshing floor?
“The ostriches’ wings flap joyously
With the pinion and plumage of love,
For she abandons her eggs to the earth
And warms them in the dust,
And she forgets that a foot may crush them,
Or that a wild beast may trample them.
“She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers;
Though her labor be in vain, she is unconcerned;
Because God has made her forget wisdom,
And has not given her a share of understanding.
“When she lifts herself on high,
She laughs at the horse and his rider.
“Do you give the horse his might?
Do you clothe his neck with a mane?
“Do you make him leap like the locust?
His majestic snorting is terrible.
“He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;
He goes out to meet the weapons.
“He laughs at fear and is not dismayed;
And he does not turn back from the sword.
“The quiver rattles against him,
The flashing spear and javelin.
“With shaking and rage he races over the ground,
And he does not stand still at the voice of the trumpet.
“As often as the trumpet sounds he says, ‘Aha!’
And he scents the battle from afar,
And the thunder of the captains and the war cry.
“Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars,
Stretching his wings toward the south?
“Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up
And makes his nest on high?
“On the cliff he dwells and lodges,
Upon the rocky crag, an inaccessible place.
“From there he spies out food;
His eyes see it from afar.
“His young ones also suck up blood;
And where the slain are, there is he.” – Job 39:1-30
Then the Lord said to Job,
“Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty?
Let him who reproves God answer it.”
Then Job answered the Lord and said,
“Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to You?
I lay my hand on my mouth.
“Once I have spoken, and I will not answer;
Even twice, and I will add nothing more.” – Job 40:1-5
