5.19 Olivet Discourse Distortions

There are so many interpretations of what is called the “Olivet Discourse” given by Jesus shortly before His crucifixion, in Matthew 24, that it boggles the mind. Suffice it to say, that nearly all popular and widely accepted interpretations are wrong, because they are based on other false teachings such as Dispensational Premillennialism or misunderstandings of the book of Daniel and Revelation.

Matthew 24:4-34 are speaking of the Great Tribulation, which was what happened to the Jews in A.D. 70, when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Roman armies, and over 1 million Jews perished. That was the “great tribulation!” It is NOT some fanciful man-conjured 7-year period of time still yet in the future to start some mythical Anti-Christ figure person emerges. Matthew 24:36-51 is about the second coming of Jesus, as is all of Matthew 25.
