that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

5.8 Abstaining from Certain Foods

Some group/sects/cults claim we cannot eat meat or caffeine or tea or whatever they decide is bad. The Lord declared all foods clean in the New Testament. One again, where there is this one false teaching, many other false teachings will also abound!

The New Testament emphatically declared that we can eat anything we like, as long as it doesn’t place a stumbling block in front of another brother or sister in Christ, or potentially an unbeliever. The whole idea of “Kosher” food today is therefore also not biblical.

What New Testament Scripture does say is that we are to abstain from meat sacrificed to idols and from foods if when partaken of would cause a weaker brother or sister in faith to stumble. Anything more is junk added by man on top of Scripture. [Acts 15:19-29, 1 Corinthians 10:23-32, 1 Timothy 4:1-4, 1 Corinthians 8:4-13, Hebrews 13:9, Colossians 2:16, Colossians 2:20-23]
