(The 70-Weeks of Daniel Distorted)
This false teaching makes the claim that there is still a “missing week” of years from the Daniel 9 prophecy that has yet to unfold in the world, minus the church which was “raptured” to heaven beforehand (see the “Secret Rapture” false teaching). They claim this period will begin after “the Antichrist” person rises to worldwide political power and that this period will be the “7-year great tribulation period” before Jesus returns (but only to set up his earthly “millennial” reign in Jerusalem on earth for another 1000 years). This false teaching is one of the pillars used to “prove” the Dispensational Premillennialism false teaching.
They justify this false teaching by distorting and misinterpreting the visions of Daniel 9, and then combine that misinterpretation with other bizarre interpretations of the book of Revelation (yes, even more false teachings). I hope you are seeing the pattern here how false teachings work: One false teaching is used to justify the next false teaching, and on and on it goes, until you are so far away from the actual truth of Scripture that you cannot even recognize it any longer!
The great tribulation spoken of in the book of Matthew 24 occurred in A.D. 70 when the Jews were wiped out and Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans. This was in judgment for rejecting Jesus Christ. Only the small remnant of Jews that had accepted Jesus of Nazareth as their Messiah were saved from the annihilation. Jesus came the first time, right on schedule according to the prophecy given in Daniel and He was “cut off” (crucified) in the middle of the last week of years. There is no “missing week” of years from the book of Daniel.
