Some denominations, sects, and cults today claim to be the “one true church” through which one is exclusively saved at the end of time. This is another false teaching conjured up by the very same denominations/sects that also have an abundance of other false teachings. Some of these groups/cults even claim that their church is the “144,000” chosen Jews mentioned in Revelation 7 (i.e., they are the “lost tribe”) – more ridiculous nonsense. All followers of Christ are part of the worldwide “Church of Christ,” regardless of where they are physically located. Sectarian and denominational divisions have no Scriptural support and are against the commands (and prayers) of Jesus. See also the chapter on finding a church.
